Website & Blog by Remo Kurka
Website & Blog
I’m Remo.
My travels have taken me to various places in Ghana, Burkina Faso, The Gambia, Kenya and Egypt.
The snow-covered peaks of Poland, Czech and Germany,
the many 100s-km long beaches of the Baltic coast along Denmark, Germany and Poland.
The Buddhas of Surin, in Thailand.
Travels to Romania and various other European countries.
I created this blog to share my tips for cultural travel adventures around the world.
“And now comes the joke of the week:
‘You applied to a company that’s looking for a Web & Digital Manager — and their contact phone number is a fax number.’ That’s comedy you couldn’t make up. Life writes it all by itself.”
As you explore my website and discover content that resonates with you, it’s natural to consider creating a similar online presence for yourself. Before I started creating websites professionally, I experimented with a wide range of website builders and hosting platforms. Over the years, I learned what works well, what doesn't, and, most importantly, what offers the best value for clients. That experience has allowed me to develop websites that are not only visually appealing but also practical, reliable, and affordable.
Today, I design and build all my websites through my own platform and offer professional web design services at highly competitive prices. Whether you're looking for a simple personal website, a business presence, or something more advanced, I can create a site tailored to your needs without the excessive costs often associated with large website providers.
If you've been browsing my website and like what you see, I'd be delighted to help you create something similar for yourself. Every website is designed with care, attention to detail, and a focus on helping you establish a professional online presence that reflects your goals.

Over the years, I have built and managed approximately
100 complete websites, including https://ghana-net.com is the oldest among these, now celebrating 25 years. Online since December 2000. It is the oldest dedicated Tourism Portal for Ghana (West Africa). Therefore, giving me the experience to deliver websites that are attractive, functional, and easy to maintain, while keeping costs at a sensible level.
I continue to retain some domain hosting with various domain retailers for strategic and security reasons—especially important when managing multiple websites. In fact, I currently oversee approximately 70 full websites (examples below):
If one ask me about my name "Remo"
Meaning: "Remo" is often associated with Latin and Italian roots. In ancient Roman mythology, Remus was the twin brother of Romulus, the legendary founders of Rome. The name is typically believed to be linked to the idea of "remus" meaning "oar" in Latin, symbolizing the idea of someone who rows or sails. Alternatively, it could also be derived from the word "remus" meaning "to row" or "to drive".
Looking into my website name: "Ghana0. com" "Ghana" derives from the Soninke word meaning "Warrior King" used to refer to the rulers of the medieval Ghana Empire (located in modern-day Mali and Senegal, not the current nation of Ghana.
The empire, also known as Wagadu, existed between the 9th and 13th centuries.
